COURSE OVERVIEW
What you’ll Learn: You will learn the fundamentals of whitewater kayaking; properly fitting your boat, catching eddies, paddling strokes, river safety, wet exiting, rolling techniques, how to “read” the river, etc. Each day students will spend a morning and afternoon session on the water honing their skills. In the evenings, we will review performance by looking at videos from the day.

Have you always wanted to learn to kayak? With our Beginner Kayaking Course, our goal is to provide a fun and learning environment so that you will leave feeling confident in you boat.
This is an all inclusive course that will focus on the fundamentals of whitewater; properly fitting your boat, catching eddies, paddling strokes, river safety, wet exiting, rolling techniques, how to “read” the river, etc. With flows that rival the Colorado River, the Salmon offers some of the best whitewater in the country for honing your whitewater skills. We have access to 45 miles of various Class I-III whitewater. The friendly characteristic rapids of the Salmon, finish in a deep pool of water, allowing a safe place to pull it together before the next rapid. In the evenings, we will review performance by looking at videos from the day.
