The Salmon River also known as “The River of No Return,” is one of the largest free-flowing undammed rivers on the continent. In 1980 the Salmon River received the “Wild and Scenic” designation (less than .05% of the rivers in the US have received this designation). When you visit a “Wild and Scenic River” you can expect a quality river experience. From the pristine crystal-clear water, to the abundant wildlife, you have a river actively preserved in its natural form. 

As you arrive at the SRAC Base Camp, you’ll be greeted by our friendly guides who will provide a brief orientation and ensure you’re comfortably equipped for the journey. Then, it’s time to set off on a leisurely drift down the river, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the serene beauty of the Salmon River Mountains. Throughout your adventure, our guides will share insights about the area’s rich ecosystem, history of Sacajawea, and the Lewis and Clark expedition. At the end of the trip, when we arrive at the boat ramp, your guides will load up the rafts and hop on a van back to the SRAC Base Camp. Whether you are looking for a peacful outing for the family, a romantic escape, or a solo adventure, this trip is designed to cater to everyone.
