The Salmon River is world-renowned for river running! Our location which sits directly on the banks with various sections of Class I-III whitewater. We will introduce you to various sections of whitewater as your skills progress. Most importantly we want to give you the skills to feel confident on the water and have fun!
LOCATION & DIRECTIONS
Salmon River Adventure Company base camp is located at 1276 Salmon River Rd, in North Fork, Idaho.
This location is 35 miles north of Salmon, ID. From the town of Salmon, follow US-93 north for 21 miles, then turn left on NF-30/Salmon River Rd. The road will parallel the river for 13 miles before arriving at camp on the left side of the road.

OUR RIVER – THE SALMON RIVER
Salmon River Adventure Company, located on the world-renowned Salmon River, delivers ideal whitewater conditions for learning and discovering the joy of river running. Within a few miles, up and down river, of our beautiful camp location, our professional guides utilize the wide-ranging levels of whitewater for instruction and play. With convenient access to these varied whitewater conditions, Class l-lll, we run multiple sections of the Salmon River, with varying difficulties, from beginner to expert. We offer you the skills to feel confident on the water and have fun!
SRAC shuttle vans provide transportation for all our guests, whether you have reserved a day of guided whitewater fun or have come for any of our multi-day trainings or adventures. We are not able to provide shuttles with rental equipment, but you are welcome to utilize our private river access and safe parking area.

Class l: Moving water over shallow riverbeds
(No skill required)
Class ll: Some rough water, possible rocks or small drops
(Basic paddling skills)
Class llI: Medium waves, possible 3-5 foot drops and significant maneuvering
(Experienced paddling skills)
OUR BASE CAMP
Our unique location, in the heart of the Salmon River Mountains of Central Idaho, lies on the banks for the Wild and Scenic Salmon River, the perfect base camp for adventures! Nested between the river and rolling mountains, the campus has all the necessities you will need for a rustic adventure. 13 miles west of North Fork, Idaho, SRAC is an escape to the wilds.
Cross the river on our pully cart to access camp. The Eddy, our onsite restaurant, serves campers and clients healthy local and organic breakfast, lunch and dinner (depending on your package). Forgot bug spray? Need a warmer layer? our gift shop has you covered. Wood-deck canvas tents offer a convenient and comfortable outdoor camping experience. And our bath house promises a warm shower after a day on the river for overnight guests.
Our base camp offers more than just access to our amazing river running programs. Camp facilities are utilized during our courses for evening fun and team building. If you are coming to stay for a few days and would like a guided experience at base camp, please let us know so we can work to accommodate your request.

OUR DINNING & SHOPPING
The Eddy, our onsite restaurant serves local and organic meals, is a great place to recoup after your big adventure and take in the breathtaking scenery. The large, covered wood patio is perfect for hanging out and enjoying a board game with your family. Meals are served at 8:00AM, 12:00PM and 6:00PM. If you are a coffee drinker, no worries, your coffee and/or tea will be hot and ready by 7:00AM.
Our Trading Post is open daily from 6pm-9pm for necessary forgotten items (toothbrush, toothpaste, flashlight, etc.). We also serve hand scooped milk shakes and sell SRAC hats and T-shirts. If you have forgotten something unique, please let us know, and we will do our best to pick it up in town the next time someone make the trip.
*Please note, we only allow food in the dining area, and we are unable to allow guests to bring food to the camp. We do have wildlife in the area and would like to limit those interactions as much as possible. If you have some small, sealed, personal snacks that you would like to bring, please let us know, and we will find a safe spot to store them.
Most of our retreats and whitewater courses include meals, prepared daily at our Eddy Restaurant. Meals are provided beginning with lunch the first day and ending with lunch on the last day.
Although SRAC does not currently carry an Idaho liquor license, guests over 21 years of age are welcome to bring your favorite drinks to camp and we’ll help find a place to keep them cold for you.
