Day Rafting
The Salmon River offers Class I–III rapids—perfect for beginners and seasoned adventurers.
Wear quick-dry (synthetic) clothing, a sun hat, sunglasses with a strap, and closed-toed river shoes (no flip-flops). Please bring sunscreen and a water bottle.

Usually 6-8 paddlers + 1 guide per raft. We’ll try to keep your group together if possible.
Our Full Day Trips meet at 9 AM. Our Half Day trips meet at 9 AM and 1 PM. Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your trip departure.
Yes, you can bring a camera or GoPro, however we are not responsible for any damages. You must bring your own waterproof case.
Glamping & Lodging
Yes! We have Deluxe tents that will accommodate 4-6 people, Safari Tents that accommodate 1-2 people, and Basic Tents that accommodate 1-3 people.
Our riverside campus is designed to keep you comfortable, entertained, and well-fed throughout your stay. Onsite amenities include:
- A clean toilet and shower house
- The Learning Lodge, featuring a classroom space, library, and games
- An above-ground pool used for kayaking courses
- Beach access for swimming
- Volleyball court
- Rock climbing wall (available for an additional fee)
- Challenge course (available for an additional fee)
- Small personal storage lockers for snacks and essentials
- The Eddy Restaurant, offering covered outdoor dining
- Wi-Fi access
- The Trading Post Store, stocked with SRAC merchandise, drinks, milkshakes, snacks, and basic necessities like batteries, toothbrushes, and sunscreen
No. Cell reception is available 12 miles away in North Fork, ID. We do have a landline for emergencies. We also have Wifi onsite. Though please be aware, WiFi is not available on the entire property.
No. Only ADA-compliant service animals are permitted. Must be declared at check-in. Additional cleaning/damage fees may apply.
Our base camp is located across the river. Our staff will ferry you and your gear over by raft. While we do our best to keep everything dry, gear may get wet, so please pack accordingly.
We also ask that guests pack light and bring only what they need. Our guides will be loading, ferrying, and hauling all gear across the river, and being considerate with your packing helps keep the process safe and efficient for everyone.
For safety reasons, river crossings are not available after 9:00 PM.
There’s plenty to enjoy during your downtime at camp! Free activities include:
- Frisbee golf — perfect for a little friendly competition
- Cornhole, slackline, and horseshoes for classic camp games and laughs
- Board games and card games for laid-back evenings
- A white sandy beach ideal for swimming, sunbathing, or just kicking back
- Scenic walking trails to stretch your legs and soak in the canyon views
- A cozy book library for unplugged reading time

Kayaking Courses
We offer instruction for paddlers at all levels — from first‑timers learning foundational strokes and river skills to more experienced paddlers refining technique on larger water. Courses generally progress through whitewater skills appropriate to your ability and comfort.
Yes — we supply all kayaking gear you’ll need for your course, including kayaks, paddles, helmets, spray skirts, and life jackets. If you prefer to bring your own gear, just let us know ahead of time.
No. All required safety equipment is provided as part of your kayaking course and included in your registration.
We recommend:

- Secure water shoes or old sneakers
- Sun protection (hat, sunglasses with strap)
- Weather‑appropriate outerwear
You should also bring a towel and a change of clothes for after your session.
- Whitewater Kayaking Courses: Typically for ages 12 and up. If you have a younger participant, contact us to discuss options.
- Inflatable Kayak / SUP Instruction: Age guidelines may vary depending on water conditions — please inquire when booking.
Please check our cancellation terms when you book. Like many outfitters, refunds may be limited or vary based on how far in advance you cancel your course.

Weather can change quickly in river canyons, so packing layers is essential.
This is an active, participatory outdoor adventure. Guests should be in good physical condition and exercising regularly prior to their trip. Please let us know as soon as possible if you have any physical limitations. Guests over 250 pounds should call our office to discuss accommodations.
No. We do not provide power for charging electronics or medical devices. If needed, bring:
- Spare batteries
- Portable power banks
- Small, rugged solar chargers (no larger than 12” x 12”)
Sun exposure in river canyons can be limited, especially at camp.
Communication is very limited once on the river. Cell service is generally unavailable. Our guides carry satellite communication devices for emergencies only.
If someone needs to reach you due to an emergency at home, they should call our office. Messages may take several days to reach you, so we recommend defining clearly what constitutes an emergency before your trip.
Yes. The groover is placed away from camp and often screened by natural features. A simple “key” system ensures privacy—if the paddle is across the trail the groover is occupied. It may take some getting used to, but the views are unbeatable.
Yes. Multi-day trips include meals from lunch on Day 1 through lunch on the final day.

Teen Kayaking Courses
Our Teen Kayaking Courses are designed for ages 12–17. If your teen is younger but eager to learn, contact us to discuss options.
No experience is necessary! Courses are beginner-friendly but also provide opportunities for more advanced skills for teens who have paddled before.
Courses cover Class I–III rapids, depending on skill and comfort level. Teens will learn proper paddling techniques, river safety, and basic whitewater navigation.

We welcome teens with medical conditions or disabilities. Please notify us in advance so we can make appropriate accommodations. If your teen weighs more than 250 pounds, please let us know — this ensures we can provide a kayak that fits comfortably and safely.
Courses are led by our experienced, certified guides with small instructor-to-student ratios to ensure safety, learning, and fun.
