What is the whitewater like?
What should I bring?

How many people fit in a raft?
Usually 6-8 paddlers + 1 guide per raft. We’ll try to keep your group together if possible.
Will my group be split up?
Do I need to bring a life jacket?

Can I bring my phone, keys, or wallet?
Can I go if it rains?
Can I participate if I have a medical condition or disability?
Do you allow alcohol?
No. Guests under the influence may not participate.

Yes—this is wild Idaho. Rattlesnakes are rare but present.
Kayak Course FAQs
What whitewater levels are taught?
Courses cover Class I–III depending on your skill level. Our guides teach everything from basic strokes to advanced whitewater navigation.
Do you rent kayaks or gear?
Yes! We offer hard-shell kayaks, inflatable kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards.
Do I need to bring my own life jacket or helmet?
What should I wear?
- Quick-dry layers (no cotton)
- River shoes or old sneakers
- Sun hat & sunglasses with a strap
- Rain jacket depending on the weather
Are there age limits?
- Whitewater Kayaking: 12+ (for courses). For private kayak instruction, please call if you have a child younger than 12 so that we can discuss options.
- Inflatable Kayak/SUP: Varies by water levels—please inquire
Can I participate with a medical condition or disability?
Yes. Let us know in advance so we can help accommodate you safely.

What are the quiet hours?
Is there cell service or Wi-Fi?
No. Cell reception is available 12 miles away in North Fork, ID. We do have a landline for emergencies.
Do you allow pets?
Can I smoke at camp?
No. SRAC is a non-smoking facility. Deodorizing/cleaning charges may apply for violations.
Do kids need to be supervised?
Yes.
- Under 12: Must be supervised at all times
- 6+: May raft with a guide
- 12+: May kayak with a guide
- Youth groups: 2 adult leaders per 12 kids recommended
Are meals available on-site?
Yes! The Eddy Restaurant serves local, organic meals at 8 AM, 12 PM, and 6 PM. Coffee/tea ready by 7 AM. No guest food allowed at camp due to wildlife (exceptions for small sealed snacks can be arranged).
What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?
Email advenure@salmonwhitewater.com at least 2 weeks in advance. We try to accommodate all requests, but for severe allergies (e.g. anaphylaxis), bring your own EpiPens and contact us for a safety plan.
What’s the lodging deposit/damage policy?
Is there fire danger?
Yes. Fires are only allowed in our designated pit with prior approval. No fireworks permitted.
